UK - 'KIDNAP PLOT': A STEP TOO FAR

As you may be aware the world media latched on to a story in the UK with f4j planning the kidnapping of the prime minister son, however it has come to light that the UK group were having internal problems and was a publicity stunt and nothing more?
In the USA the media have taken this story and it seems
to of made very big waves internationaly.

I'm an egalitarian feminist single mom and grandmom. Equal means equal.
How hard is that to understand? Children deserve fully functioning, natural,
loving, dedicated relationships with both of their parents, equally, in
and out of marriage, whenever possible. I'd like to know which "feminist"
along the way forgot to read the manual, and why some feminists are against
shared parenting. Co-parenting benefits families. And most importantly,
it's what most children want. Shared parenting works.

O'Connor, one of the founders of Fathers4Justice, said the story was credible.
He was aware that the Met Police Anti-Terrorist Unit had visited some former
members of his organisation warning them that they could get shot if they
attempted a kidnap stunt like this.
Not surprisingly Mr O'Connor is appalled that Fathers4Justice may be discredited
by the alleged actions or plans of some disaffected former members who broke
away from his group.
He's quick to point out that F4J has always pursued peaceful, direct action
with a dash of humour - men in Batman and Mickey Mouse costumes scaling
public buildings and the like.
This kidnap plot story could undoubtedly do untold damage to his group's
campaign. In fact its future probably hangs in the balance now.

These fathers are driven to these acts because of necessity. They are not
granted equal rights when it comes to custody battles, they are highlighting
injustices in our court system. If this was an issue effecting female custody
and child rights, it would be seen as sexism. But this is not the case because
it is men, and not women who have less rights. Of course it is ridiculous
to attempt to kidnap a child, that is sick and wrong, but in any fight for
justice, there will always be extremists who take it too far, whether its
nationalists, terrorists feminists or fathers, they cannot all be painted
with the same brush. Are we really entitled to say that the whole issue
of fathers not getting a fair chance is a nonsense just because some extremists
who back this cause got it wrong? Fathers 4 Justice are fighting for equality
and a better society in which to raise children. Now they face the media
lampooning them and the general public turning on them because of the ridiculous
plots of a small minority. Surely this does not serve the public good in
any way at all?
